You can be a sponsor for a student who is going to study in Belgium by undertaking an affidavit of support. This means that you bear the costs of any healthcare, housing, studies and repatriation of the dependent student for the duration of the chosen period (1 academic year, entire studies or 12 months after completion of study).
If you live in Denmark, please follow the steps below to acquire an affidavit:
- Send all the necessary documents to copenhagen@diplobel.fed.be.
- If you fulfil all the conditions after evaluation of the documents, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to book an appointment online to come and sign the affidavit (annex 32) in person at the Consulate-General in Copenhagen.
- Bring all the required documents to the Embassy, sign the affidavit and pay the fee (DKK160 per annex 32) with card. The Embassy is cash free and has no MobilePay.
- We legalize your signature and you will receive the annex 32 digitally via email.
To ensure that your application is processed quickly, please make sure:
- To send all the documents in .pdf- or .jpeg-format as attachments in 1 email.
- That all the documents are complete and readable.
- That your contract(s) and residence card are valid during the entire period of sponsorship.
If your application is incomplete, it is not admissible and will not be processed. You will receive notification if this is the case. If you want to reapply, you will have to send a new email with all the documents attached.
